Albany Station, 18, July 2008-Amtrak
While the boys and I were sitting and waiting for our train at the Albany-Rennseler Station in NY, suddenly there was an explosion of people coming in through the main doors. Newspaper reporters, camera men, Channel 13 and the like, all following after a slender, white haired man, with a beaming smile, and the consumate look of a politician. He was followed by a young black boy, perhaps 8 or 9 years old, and his mother. It seems this was Joe Bruno's last day in office, and he was visiting all of the places that he had worked on bringing into fruition. The young boy was just a child in one of the crowds that watched as he moved through, like a wave of flood waters, and he was scooped up for a free ice cream treat at the station…
